The greatest difficulty in learning about new technology is overcoming our mental barriers. Elders are convinced that it’s just too complicated for them, but as soon as they realize that it’s not, they discover new unimagined scenarios …
Michele Laria, a social agent for ACTing, who works as a technological facilitator for active ageing, describes the relationship that elders have with new technology. Michele is also on the management committee of the Tor Marancia Elderly Centre in Rome, where he organizes a range of activities ranging from gymnastics to tablet use.
In particular, Michele, who is retired, teaches his peers to use a tablet, as he explains in this brief interview with Rosy D’Elia.
