Prodigy European project kicks off Two days of work in Milan

Prodigy, an acronym for PROmoting Digital and Green Skills for Youth, is kicking off. It is an innovative European project for the growth and professional qualification of Neet (young people who do not study, work or follow training courses), financed within the framework of ESF+ Social Innovation+. The aim is to transfer and disseminate innovative solutions to address social challenges in the fields of employment, education, skills and social inclusion by improving the job opportunities and civic engagement of 240 young people in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria.

A European model for tackling social challenges
Prodigy represents a Europe-wide evolution of the methodology developed with the Dig4all project , funded in Italy by the Digital Republic Fund, enriched by the experience gained with the European project Digi-Breaker+. The methodology envisages a personalised educational approach, individual coaching and the strengthening of social networks between different actors.

The project is implemented thanks to an international partnership that includes Fondazione L'Albero della Vita ETS (lead partner), Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS, Adecco Italia spa and Università degli Studi Roma Tre, together with the European partners ActionAid Hellas (Greece) and Partners Bulgaria Foundation (Bulgaria).

Recipients and territories involved
The project involves 240 young Neet from Catanzaro, Reggio Calabria, Naples, Palermo, Thessaloniki, Blagoevgrad and Gotse Delchev. Special attention is given to the most vulnerable Neet, such as Roma, migrants and young people with disabilities, regardless of their level of education.

A tailor-made training offer
The training courses, updated to meet local and sustainable labour market needs, are available in Italian, Greek and Bulgarian. The training offer includes:

  • Basic and advanced digital skills
  • Social media marketing
  • Website design
  • Data analysis
  • Exploitation of green skills in the labour market
  • Sustainability management

Certification and job placement
The skills acquired are validated with Esco certification, guaranteed by the Roma Tre University. The project also includes training courses, individual coaching and company networking activities, promoting the job placement of participants.
Among the expected results

  • 30,000 young people raised awareness thanks to a Europe-wide information campaign
  • 240 young people involved by signing a personalised educational pact
  • 120 traineeship contracts and 240 job placement interviews

A sustainable and inclusive future
Prodigy aims to build a fairer and more inclusive society by fostering the personal and professional growth of young Neet people, developing digital and sustainability skills.

Initial Appointments
The project officially starts with a meeting on 16 and 17 January at the Fondazione L'Albero della Vita in Milan.
