Site Inspection in Palermo

The school, located in a socio-culturally mixed area, which also welcomes non-EU citizens, disabled students and students from disadvantaged categories, needs to address a range of educational needs. Its objective is to educate students to accept cultural differences and overcome indifference, providing them with the competences necessary to understand themselves better, get along better with others, acquire key competences for various subject areas and understanding how to make more conscious choices [from the school’s three-year curricular plan].

Today, the second on-site inspection will be held in Palermo for Project OpenSPACE at the G. A. Borgese - XXVII Maggio School in Piazza Contardo Ferrini 13 [see news: Inspection in Milan] by school representatives, local focal point, and partner organisations Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Arteteca and MCA, which are responsible for designing and renovating the school facilities and learning areas.

In particular:

  • Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) – facility renovation;
  • Arteteca – artistic regeneration of facilities;
  • Fondazione Mondo Digitale – design, development, kick off and management of the Phyrtual Innovation Gym with Matteo Viscogliosi, designer, maker and Coordinator of the Digital Manufacturing Lab at the FMD Phyrtual Innovation Gym. Project Manager Ilaria Graziano, who has participated in all the phases of shared development for OpenSPACE follows the works remotely.
