Young Ada is a pest. She climbs up the furniture, puts everything in disorder and doesn’t utter a word until she’s three. And when she finally decides to speak, no one can stop her. Questions flow freely: why? How? When?
One day, Ada experiences something strange: a terrible odour. Is it the cat’s fault? Her brother’s socks? Where is the smell coming from? Delving into her scientific investigation, Ada scribbles everywhere, even on the living room walls, and ends up getting punished. In the end, everything is resolved thanks to a roll on which the young girl can write her new scientific hypothesis.

Inspired by the stories of Nobel Prize Winners Ada Lovelace e Marie Curie, Ada la Scienziata (Scientist Ada) teaches young girls to understand their talent, promote the concept of gender diversity as a resource and communicate a fundamental message: intelligence and perseverance are the best tools to pursue one’s dreams.
After the reading, children at the presentation will be able to participate in a coding, science and creativity lab with Minecraft Edu, held by the Senior Coach of the Coding Girls Programme, to give life to Ada and design new worlds and adventures. Microsoft activities address all children and young men and women, and particularly women with programmes such as Pink Cloud and Coding Girls, to promote the study of STEM subjects and jobs in the new technology sectors to overcome all forms of gender gap.
The series edited by De Agostini aims to divulge science through a new approach that celebrates values such as the curiosity and determination of young women.
