Regional Councillor Giampaolo Manzella participated in Day One of the Phyrtual Innovation Week that will is being held in Rome until next Saturday.

Here is what he declared to the Agenparl News Agency and a short interview conducted at the end of the presentation of Project IoT Acceleration, the result of an alliance between the  Lars Magnum Ericsson Foundation and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale [see news #PIW – Day One].

Lazio, Manzella (Pd): settimana Innovazione della Fondazione Mondo Digitale tocca un nodo della competitività regionale

“The issue of bringing innovation to education, of bringing our students into contact with innovation and creativity and providing them with the tools they require for the future is fundamental in our cities, regions and nationally. The government is addressing this issue with the “La Buona Scuola” Programme. The Lazio Region is also following suite by creating new fab labs, promoting courses to divulge entrepreneurial values and increasing digital professions and competitiveness amongst students.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is opening up new routes. Its commitment on these issues has driven the city and regional agenda for year now. It’s an example of how a small idea can be brought forward with tenacity to make it become something grandiose. This is what happened with the Maker Faire or what happened to innovation loci such as the Luiss Enlabs and Pi-campus. These were all small realities that have now become reference points, both regionally and beyond. It’s another sign that Rome and Lazio have all the tools necessary to compete globally. Rome is a city that excels in terms of innovation and creativity.”

This is the declaration made by Gian Paolo Manzella, PD Regione Lazio Councillor and Member of the Culture and Innovation Commission, made at Day One of the Phyrtual Innovation Week, organized by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, at the presentation of Project IOT Acceleration, promoted by the Magnus Ericsson Foundation for students in 10 secondary schools in the Regione Lazio.
