Miss Luisa, who has spent her life amidst fields as a farmer, wants to take responsibility for how to use and find information “in a computer.” So, at age 90, she decided to start studying again and participate in Grandparents On-line, a project promoted by Poste Italiane in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. “Comfort is essential for us elders,” explains Miss Luisa, who is happy to return to school, seventy-two years later, right next to the school she attended as a girl, IIS Crescenzi-Pacinotti in via Saragozza in Bologna.

Cecilia Stajano, who coordinates Project “Grandparents On-line. Everyone’s Young at the Post Office” gathered the emotions of the new students before the new courses began [see news "Grandparents On-line Kicks Off"].

In Rome, Liana (80) cannot hide her joy for this new experience and feels “a little anxious.” She confesses “everything about computers makes her curious. It would be fantastic to learn how to use those keyboards!” Today, she will start her course at the IIS Primo Levi in via Morandini.

Giovanni (76), a former postal worker, will start the course tomorrow at IIS Euclide in Cagliari. “I am happy to start,” he explains. “I really wanted to take this course and learn more about things.” And even for practical aspects, as he points out: “to check my pension payments and make payments on-line.”
