"The Romance Linguistics Manual” written by Shigeaki Sugeta for the Waseda University Press is now available. The volume is dedicated to Tullio De Mauro(Torre Annunziata 1932 - Rome 2017).

Professor Shigeaki Sugeta, 85, is a retired professor of Romance Philology at the University of Tokyo, Professor emeritus and Consultant to the Institute for Italian Studies at Waseda University, and known in Italy especially for his "Vocabolariu sardu de 1500 paragulas" (an Italian – Sardinian – Japanese Dictionary) as well as for having promoted the Sardinian language worldwide.
Tullio De Mauro was in Japan ten times between 1980 and 2012 to hold conferences and seminars. Some of his books have been translated into Japanese.
