The 13th edition of RomeCup, the multi-event promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to promote young Italian talent and the innovation ecosystem in robotics, artificial intelligence and life sciences, ended with the awards ceremony at the Rome Campidoglio.

The robotics competitions (Soccer, Explorer, Rescue, On Stage, Rescue Simulation) and creative contests for students on school-work programmes and university students were integrated with new challenges: a hackathon on “Robotics and Lifes Sciences,” held in collaboration with the Regione Lazio, Lazio Innova and the Rome “Campus Bio-Medico” University, and the “SuperConnected Robot” Challenge launched by Invitalia and the School Superiore Sant’Anna inPisa for start-uppers, students and researchers. Moreover, awards were also presented to the winners of the “5G4School” Contest promoted with the Fondazione Lars Magnus Ericsson.

The final competition rounds involved 148 teams from 30 schools in 10 Italian regions, as well as a team from Malta. Today, the winning teams in nine category contests will receive awards in the Protomoteca Hall at the Rome Campidoglio.
