Sensors, microprocessors and industrial robotics, STMicroelectronics, a global leader in technological innovation, now turns to didactic robotics. In particular, the Catania office will participate in the sixth edition of the RomeCup - International City of Rome Robotics Trophy (Rome, 21-23 March 2012) and present its latest robotic experiments performed in collaboration with the Waseada University of Tokyo.
The Robotics challenge that is held annually in Rome is a three-in-one event: competitions, showcase and workshop. The competitions will serve as the national selection round for the soccer primary and secondary (new regulations on-line) and dance primary categories. The winning schools will earn the right to participate in the Mexico City Robotics World Championship 2012.
STMicroelectronics will provide the awards for schools and will participate in the showcase area. In the audio interview with Adriano Basile, Manager of the Advanced Robotics Group, and Giovanni Vitale, Manufacturing Sustainability Manager, we get a good picture of the company’s focus on robotics and some previews on their upcoming participation in the international event promoted by the FMD. The interview was recorded at the EtnaRobot Conference in Catania during the European Robotics Week.
