Registration is now underway for RomeCup 2013 – Excellence in Robotics in Rome. The event, which will be held March 20-22, 2013 at the Città Educativa, includes 3 events-in-one: a showcase area, competitions and the awards ceremony. This year’s event includes new collaborations with the ANP (National Headmaster Association) and CNR (National Research Council) as well as, for the first time in Italy, the Cospace Theatre Competition.
The seventh edition of the RomeCup– Excellence in Robotics in Rome promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, will be held in Rome from March 20 to 22, 2013.
It’s an event that grows richer by the year! It will be officially inaugurated on Wednesday March 20 (9.30 am) at the Rome Città educativa (via del Quadraro 102). The programme includes two full days of competitions, a showcase area with laboratories and workshops (20-21 March) and the finals with the Awards Ceremony in the Campidoglio, Rome’s City Hall (22 March).
Competitions: the first two days (10 am – 5 pm) will feature the “RomeCup 2013 – City of Rome International Robotics Trophy” Competition (featuring soccer, dance as well as the national selections for the “Robocup Junior” World Championship in the soccer and cospace theatre categories. The finals will be held on day 3 at the Rome Campidoglio. In total, nine prizes will be presented: on for earch competition category. The official referee will be Peter Van Lith, Chairman of RoboCup Junior 2013.
Showcase Area: companies, research centres, universities and schools will exhibit Italian excellence in Robotics and provide visitors with didactic labs for students and workshops for teachers, school administrators and parents. Workshops will Robotics and Disabilities, Robotics and Creative Didactics (from homeschooling to life skills) and New Approaches to Robotics (cognitive vs. neuronal).
Awards Ceremony: the third day, which will be held at the Campidoglio, will feature the finals and the awards ceremony with important guests from the world of academia and government.
