Robots for Grandparents and Grandchildren

Francesco Tocci and Simone Vasta, who are attending their last year of school at ITIS Cardano in Monterotondo, will have to take their “Maturità” state examination this year. They are RomeCup veterans, who have always competed in the soccer category. And creating soccer robots is anything but kid’s play. Officially, the project occupies two afternoons a week, but in reality, they dedicate all the time they can to the project together with their other teammates: Robert Zaleschi, Matteo Persichetti and Valerio Esposito. The RomeCup is less than two weeks away and the pressure is building. In fact, as soon as a new part arrives, they can’t wait to add it to their robot.

On the on-line Studenti Magazine, RomeCup 2018 media partner, journalist Veronica Adriani reports on Francesco and Simone’s story, two robot enthusiasts who will participate in this year’s NonniBot Contest, coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome.

The 12th edition of RomeCup, the multi-event dedicated to Robotics and Life Sciences in the Innovation Eco-system, will be held at the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University on April 16-17, 2018. On day three, April 18, the awards ceremony will be held as usual at the Rome Campidoglio.
