Preparations are underway for the March 2012 RomeCup, the International City of Rome Robotics Trophy, and an important new appointment has been made.
Daniele Nardi, Head of the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Informatica Automatica Gestionale Antonio Ruberti at the Faculty of Engineering of the Rome “La Sapienza” University, has been elected President of the RoboCup Federation.
The DIS SPQRteam has just returned from Istanbul, where it competed in the RoboCup Standard Platform League with humanoid NAOs from Aldebaran Robotics. The team reached the second round where it was eliminated at penalty kicks.
Professor Nardi and DIS are long-time supporters of the RomeCup and help with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to organize and participate yearly in the Robocup Mediterranean Open.
