The initiative, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale as part of the Città Educativa Project, addresses the problems of social, cultural and linguistic integration for foreign students and their families living in Rome via the development of privileged communication channels between families and school and inter-generational exchange.

In particular, students and teachers from Class III E at IC Via Cortina in Rome met with Hashem on November 7, a boy from Somalia who arrived in Italy 5 years ago and has become a well-known acquaintance at the Rome Centro Enea.
Over the course of the past months, the class (that has many immigrant students) has developed a special didactic project based on researching and writing stories and recipes typical of the foreign countries from which these students come. It’s an Italian exercise that also involved the families at home and has helped students learn and rediscover their traditions.
Once a week, the students meet in a cooking workshop and experiment the recipes and share stories from different countries
