Students in Class 3C at the Rome Liceo Morgagni, the school directed by Paola Gasperini, as part of the "Fab Lab – Giving Shape to Ideas" school-work programme, held at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym, developed five projects: a home smoke detector, a solar panel for greenhouses, a safe, a low-cost didactic kit for mechanical experiments and a smart thermometer game for baby baths.
Over the course of 16 hours, the course designed by Professor Sandra Amatiste, one of participants in the School of Physics with Arduino and Smartphone, allowed students to acquire knowledge and competences, ranging from product design and communications to rapid prototyping [see photo gallery].
In the video, the professor explains why she decided to co-design the course at the digital manufacturing lab with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
