Yesterday, during the first day of the Phyrtual Innovation Week (Rome, Octo. 3-8, 2016), Project IoT Acceleration was launched.
For Cesare Avenia, President of the Lars Magnum Ericsson Foundation, Project Iot Acceleration is one of the most important initiatives promoted by the organization as it addresses school and helps youth prepare for change and image new styles of life.
"Is school changing? Who addresses the issue of preparing young men and women for the new world in which everything is changing? Before learning about the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, I often wondered about this,” explains Cesare Avenia. Today, I must say that the FMD is an excellence in this field. Its relation with schools, both in terms of methods and models, is exactly what we were looking for.”
"We only know about 30% of the jobs that will be created in the future. We are still not able to identify what the professions that we will need in the future are.” And this is why it is fundamental to prepare youth to change, to transformation. “You have an open mind, the forma mentis required to imagine a different world, but you need tools to develop it."
IOT ACCELERATION, a project/competition promoted by the Lars Magnus Ericsson Foundation and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to introduce new generations to the “connected society” and avoid phenomena such as educational, skill and digital mismatch. The project addresses upper school students, orienting students in the Lazio Region towards technical and scientific culture, promoting a responsible use of connected devices. With a special focus on mobility, transport and tourism, 220 young men and women will follow courses and 20 will be admitted to “accelerated” programmes, using a variety of devices, including the Ericsson IoT Accelerator.
