A Plan for Skills

After having achieved an important initial goal, adopting the National Strategy for Digital Skills, Italy now has an Operative Plan, “an ambitious document that aims to bridge the digital gap in our country by 2025.” All the documents are available on the Repubblica digitale website.

The plan was developed in cooperation under the supervision of the Technical Guidance Committee of Repubblica digitale and coordinated by MID, via the Department for Digital Transformation, with ministries, regions, provinces, municipalities, universities, research institutes, enterprise, professionals and the RAI Network. The process also involved associations and public sector agencies besides organisations in the National Coalition and took into account the initial contributions collected by parteciPa, the government platform dedicated to consultation and public participation processes.

A preview of the plan was presented at an international event, held in two sessions on December 2 and 16, organized with the European Commission’s Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition, the European network that brings together all those working to reduce the digital divide, including the Italian coalition. FMD Director General Mirta Michili also participated in the work sessions [see news: The Italian Strategy].
