Pact4Future: young people take to the stage

Not spectators, but protagonists. At Pact4Future 2026 (24–26 March 2026), the event organised by Corriere della Sera and Bocconi University in Milan, students from secondary schools and the ITS Academy did not just sit and listen: they took to the stage to ask questions, challenge assumptions and seek answers.

It is a shift in perspective that the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has been championing for years and which is now finding new avenues for growth: young people not sitting in the audience, but at the centre of the stage.

The format: when questions become a learning experience

In collaboration with Corriere della Sera, we guided students through a preparatory programme that led them to engage directly with experts, communicators and innovators. Not mere presentations, but carefully crafted questions capable of sparking reflection on technology, education, work and the future. An experience that serves as guidance, training in critical thinking and a concrete opportunity for active citizenship.

Young people at the centre

Young people’s questions are never trivial. They are direct, demanding, often uncomfortable. They remind adults of the need to be clear, credible and responsible. This is precisely the strength of the format: creating a space where young people can exercise their right to understand. Because this is where awareness is born. And without awareness there is no participation, no citizenship, no future.

A vision that grows

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale has always worked to bring young people into the world of innovation, as has been the case for years with the RomeCup. Today, thanks to its role as a knowledge partner in national events, this vision is expanding and influencing new spheres. The aim is clear: not to organise events for young people, but events with young people.

If we truly wish to understand how the younger generations think, we must offer them genuine opportunities to have their say. And perhaps the next step is even more radical: not just inviting them onto the stage, but allowing them to build it.
