A research paper on Digital Communicaiton by Non-Profit Organisations prepared by the Fondazione Sodalitas on 209 organisations confirms the validity of the choices made by the FMD that has been present on a wide range of social networks with a range of custom-tailored content.
Facebook is the main social network used by non-profit organisations (86% vs. 50% for Youtube, 47 % for Twitter, 27% for Google+ and 23% for LinkedIn,). The third sector, independently from the size and sector of activity, still lags in its use and understanding of crowdfunding campaigns (only 19% of the sample has conducted one). In fact, this new tool is mainly used by NGOs (53%) and foundations (26%); while social cooperatives come in last (6%).
Here is a full listing of all the social networks on which you can follow the activities of the FMD:

Our official site (www.mondodigitale.org) has been on-line since 2008. It is based on the Drupal platform, an open source content management system that is modular and extremely versatile for bringing a wide range of different types of content together (news, blogs, photo galleries, videos, audio clips, publications, etc.).
Phyrtual.org is a virtual environment for social innovation that enriches the lives of those who share knowledge, art, solidarity and the development of communities. It also integrates a crowdfunding platform.
Voice Over is a blog that brings together important news items from schools and other realities with a daily press review and information on local events, the presentation of reports and research papers, etc. It aims to provide users with tools to correctly interpret facts.

Our Facebook Page narrates our daily activities through photos and words. We also manage a page for the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab.

Our Twitter profile uses 140 characters each day to describe what we do. Our staff members also all have profiles, including our Director General [@MirtaMichilli] and Scientific Director [@AlfonsoHMolina].

Our YouTube channel has over 570 videos (interviews, testimonials, documentaries, fiction, viral videos, etc.) that narrate our 12 years of activities. The channel has had over 50,000 hits.

Our presence on Google+ is very recent, but we are investing energy to make our profile as efficient as possible and we update it daily.
We are present on Flickr with over 80 albums. It’s public showcase of all our events, day after day. All the material, including high-resolution images, can be accessed freely.

SlideShare holds all of our presentations. Over the course of the next weeks, we will update our on-line library with new material in English and Italian.

By following us on Feed, you will be constantly updated with all of our news.
