OpenSPACE Videos

Today, we launch a new playlist on the Fondazione Mondo Digitale YouTube Channel: "OpenSPACE – Active Participation Spaces for the Educational Community"

Short videos, tutorials and clips developed together with our coaches for the students involved in Project Open Space to experiment with STEAM subjects also through distance learning activities.

New content will be uploaded every week to introduce participants to making, coding, digital manufacturing, storytelling, videomaking and educational robotics activities.

Sending, receiving and viewing videos is very simple, even with a smartphone. And activities can be completed with basic devices. It’s a method tailored for the learning and growth of all students, excluding none. It’s a simple and original way for teachers to involve their students in the difficult period that we are living, until we can meet again in the Innovation Gyms in BariMilan, Reggio Calabria and Palermo.

The first two short videos are dedicated to making. They were produced by Coach Irene Caretti and are already on-line:

Project  "OpenSPACE – Active Participation Spaces for the Educational Community" allows the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to introduce the Phyrtual Innovation Gym model (www.innovationgym.org) into new areas to contrast educational poverty, orient NEETs towards courses and jobs, support lifelong learning and provide an arena for debate amongst the educational community.

The objective of the project, selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund to contrast the educational poverty of minors (Adolescence Call), is to make communities inclusive and responsible for promoting the educational and cultural growth, as well as to empower, pre-adolescents and adolescents. The project, which is implemented in suburban areas of Bari, Milan, Palermo and Reggio Calabria, concentrates on various key dimensions: inclusive, quality education; the transformation of schools into a reference point not only for students, but also for families and communities; contrast dropouts. The project fields all actions through a synergy of complementary competences, approved by a wide and varied partnership.
