Meetings continue throughout Italy to allow local communities to enjoy the actions and objectives of OpenSPACE - Spaces for Active Participation by the Educating Community. The project was selected by Con i Bambini as part of the Fund for contrasting the educational poverty of minors.
Yesterday, Palermo hosted the third press conference, after the ones held in Bari (Oct. 16) and Reggio Calabria (Oct. 23).
Leoluca Orlando, Mayor of Palermo, points out that OpenSPACE “confirms the importance of the synergic relation between school and private social organisation, also thanks to collaboration with local agencies. In the current crisis of values, schools are a fortress defending civilisation, a place to transmit and reinforce not so much the formal dictates of our constitution, but our fundament al values, first amongst which: solidarity, respect of others and upholding legality.”
