No More of those Days

No More of those Days

Parbiago, a small town west of Milan, will no longer only be remembered for its shoe artisans, but also for its extraordinary didactic liveliness, and the professional educational attitude of its students.

Starting this year, the Scientific and Linguistic Liceo Claudio Cavalleri has joined the Grandparents on the Internet Project and its students immediately distinguished themselves for the enthusiasim with which they welcomed the initiative. Yesterday, in a videoconference with the FMD, Headmaster Luciano Bagnato, students Noemi and Marco and professor Paolo Galbiati described their experience.

“Coming into contact with elders who can transmit experience and in exchange learn how to use digital technology from us” is the added value of Grandparents on the Internet for the Headmaster in a long interview with Elisa Amorelli. “Meeting their ‘elder brothers’ is highly educational for the students.”

Noemi and Marco (17)agree and, as class representatives, explain how they are preparing for the lessons. They have a very clear idea of what they will do to promote and advertise the project to the elderly living in their town.

There are twenty of us and we have divided into five groups to plan various activities. The students have already produced an informational pamphlet that concisely describes the courses using attractive slogans. It’s a very professional product, just like what you would expect from a marketing department!

In the course of 10 lessons, that will begin on November 21, the lessons will cover five different modules: the fundamental steps to become digital grandparents, Including Word, research enginees and Skype as well as all the other tools that can simplify the life of even the eldest.

Paolo Galbiati, who emphasized the value of the project, which has already been inserted into the schools didactic curriculum, ended the virtual meeting.
