The new school year of Project OpenSpace continues for a second week of labs in Milan at the Madre Teresa di Calcutta and De Andreis Schools, while activities will begin at the Istituto comprensivo Sperone-Pertini in Palermo. Both activities – Digital Manufacturing with Irene Caretti in Milan and Robotics with Marco Brocchieri in Palermo – will involve students and teachers from various classes for the entire week.

 

Programme Living Digital, promoted by Facebook and FreeFormers, will host three appointments: on Monday at the Liceo Pasolini in Potenza with Vito Verrastro, on Tuesday at the Vanoni School in Vimercate (Monza and Brianza) with Roberta Moretti and in Cagliari on Friday at IIS G. Siotto Pintor with Alessio Zuddas.

 

Afternoon coding activities continue for 24 children at the Rodari Primary School in Formello, working with Google CS First and Scratch, as well as robotics activities with various kits (Lego We Do, Beebot and Ozobot).

 

It’s a busy week for Programme Ambizione Italia for Schools promoted with Microsoft that, after kicking-off in the main hubs (Milan and Rome), also begins activities in other national hubs. The new AI Class at the Milan Microsoft House will host three labs with Manuel Serra on artificial intelligence: Monday at the Istituto comprensivo Calvino, Wednesday at IIS Mattei and Friday at IC Sottocorno. On Monday, September 30, a Coding Girls Training Session will be held at IIS Pio La Torre in Palermo by Marco Brocchieri, while on Thursday, October 3, Caoch Valentina Gelsomini will be at IIS Hertz in Rome.

 

Programme Vagone FMD at Binario F (Rome Termini Railway Station) will begin two four-appointment courses. On October 2, Astrid D’Eredità will hold the first meeting of a course dedicated to ”Seniors On-line – Practical and Easy Guide to the Internet” [see agenda]. On October 2, Nicoletta Vulpetti will hold the first meeting of "Turn the Camera – Responsibly and Creatively Inhabiting the Digital World" [see agenda].

 

The National CSVnet Conference on the “Folly of Volunteers” will be held in Trento on October 3-6 WITH Alfonso Molina [see news: The Innovation Challenge].

 

As usual, over the weekend, the digital manufacturing lab (Fab Lab) at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym is open to the maker community: Saturday-Sunday from 3:30 to 8:30 pm.
