Needle, Thread & Plotter

Yesterday, Susanna, a student of “Fashione and Design” at the Istituto d’Istruzione secondaria superiore A. Diaz in Rome, began her stage at the old Sartoria Borghetti in downtown Rome. Susanna is supervised by one of the owners, Marco Borghetti, who immediately turned the tools of the trade – needle, thread and thimble - over to her to see her manual ability and sewing skills.

Mr. Marco was born into this profession and thanks to The Italian Makers Project he is sharing his knowledge of the craft with schools. Once Susanna ends her stage, it will be the turn of Benedetta, Giada and Aurora.

Once the students have completed the stage, together with Mr. Marco, they will design and develop a new fashion line that will be produced in the Fab Lab at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym for the next Maker Faire (3-5 October 2014).
