Music is Art

Labs with artists continue for the Rome Media Art Festival (April 27-29). Today, students at the Istituto comprensivo Tullia Zevi meet with Artist Paolo Gatti. Professor Daniela Corallo coordinates the project for the school.

During the last edition, Paolo Gatti, together with artist Francesco Bianco, worked on Stanze, a work developed with students at IIS Pertini in Rome.

Who is the artist?

Paolo Gatti graduated with a degree in Sound Engineering as part of the Masters Degree Programmes in Environmental Engineering at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” after receiving a second-level diploma in Electronic Music from the Rome Conservatorio Santa Cecilia.

A composer, educator and researcher in the field of musical gesture and expression, Paolo has written music for theatre and poetry readings. His compositions have been performed at cultural events and international music festivals. In 2015, “Poltergeist,” a piece for electronics and violin, received a “Claudio Abbado” National Arts Award.
