From Messina to Rome

Francesco (27) is studying Computer and Telecommunications Engineering, but he is not a full time student. He also works at the Messina “UCI Cinemas” cineplex and at times also works as a bartender or usher.

He also is a volleyball coach and has participated in Project PON to raise awareness amongst young people about the benefits of physical activity. Moreover, he is also trained in first aid and is always on the lookout to help others.

He defines himself as “an ambitious and determined person, who is also very reflective. I can act as a leader without creating issues and keeping a group serene.”

Francesco has realized that the opportunity provided by the Officina – New Jobs Workshop is unique in Italy. That is why he made the trip from Messina, paving the way for other young Sicilians. He chose the All4All Game Lab track.

The Officina – New Jobs Workshop is a project conceived by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Google to promote digital skills and implement professional training and orientation activities for 10,000 young men and women currently looking for a job. The initiative has been organised with the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, University and Research, the Regione Lazio and Roma Capitale.
