After woodwork and sea navigation, fashion is up! Starting on Monday June 16, students from the “Fashion and Style” Programme at the Istituto d’istruzione secondaria superiore A. Diaz in Rome will start their stage at the Sartoria Borghetti.
This is a new phase of The Italian Makers Project, which after the training and meeting with experts and artisans, allows students to work hands-on and collaborate actively in production.
The objective of the project, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Inail in collaboration with CNA, is to support and relaunch craftsmanship in the Regione Lazio to create new work opportunities for youth and enrich local social capital.
Yesterday, four girls from the Diaz Professional School - Susanna, Benedetta, Giada and Aurelia – visited the Fab Lab at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym. The challenge is to wed artisanal sartorial tradition, new ideas and technological maker innovation. Who knows if they will manage to create a new fashion line for the Maker Faire 2014...
