The Robotics Open School Units come held by Luca Fantin, a third year student at the Liceo scientifico Enrico Fermi in Padua (Applied Sciences Curriculum) have ended. Luca (16) immediately grew interested in European Project Make: Learn: Share: Europe for which he now works as a Digital Ambassador. Since he began attending high school, his interest in robotics has increased significantly. His computer skills include coding, robotics, and various coding languages, including Python, CSS, Visual basic, C++, HTML, Java Script and Arduino.
Luca also participated in the Festival di Rovereto, organized by “Informatici senza frontiere,” which served as an important opportunity to hone his programming teaching and compete in the NAO Challenge
The Open School Unit Days organised by Luca were held on June 12-14 at his school and involved a tight-knit group of schoolmates who had no previous experience in coding and robotics. Thanks to the introduction to the principles of programming and practical examples with Scratch, Python, and Arduino, as well as the relaxed atmosphere, the students were able to programme a humanoid Nao Robot.
“I can serenely affirm that my OSU went quite well. The participants enjoyed the course, as far as I can tell, but I will share a short on-line evaluation form with them this weekend,” points out Luca at the end of his teaching experience. And the first evaluation of the questionnaires on SurveyMonkey were very positive. His complex challenge was enticing and appreciated, notwithstanding some of the hard exercises that his peer had to tackle!
