Registration is underway: become a “social agent for active ageing.” Twenty agents will be selected to participate in Project ACTing, which is financed by the European Commission and provides free training and the opportunity to compete for the Best Social Agent in Europe. Candidatures must be presented by November 10, 2014. Registration is free.
ACTing – Active Ageing through Information & Communication Technologies will train social agents to work in the field of active ageing to promote the acquisition of digital skills by over-sixties. The European project is coordinated by Fundetec (Spain) in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale (Italy), the Association for Life Long Learning in Rural Areas (Romania), Fundacion Esplai (Spain) and ICVolunteers (Switzerland).
The project is implemented as part of the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme (Multi-lateral Innovation Transferral Projects) and financed by the European Commission (National Spanish Agency for the Lifelong Learning Programme).
The “capacity building” methodology will train 20 new social agents to act as social and digital inclusion facilitators for elders. Training will take place both at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym managed by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale (via del Quadraro 102) and on-line.
Moreover, the selected agents will have the opportunity to participate in the final competition that will present an award to the best European Social Agent. The Awards ceremony will be held in Geneva with all the project partners. The project began in September 2013 and will end in September 2015.
Registration is open to anyone who already works with elders or wishes to become a facilitator for active ageing.
