Learning by Doing

Accompanied by Professor Luciana Polsinelli, students from Class IA at the Plesso Aldo Fabrizi of the Istituto comprensivo Viale dei Consoli, spent Thursday morning at the Robotics Centre at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym to learn how the Bee-Bot works.

Project "Building Wings: inclusion of children with specific learning disabilties through educational robotics," financed by the Regione Lazio, involves three classes from the Istituto comprensivo Viale dei Consoli in Rome’s Tuscolano neighbourhood:

Class IE first degree secondary school - Lego NXT Kit
Class IA primary schools – Bee-Bot Introduction
Class IV A primary school - Lego We Do

The Viale dei Consoli School has become a protagonist of the experimental project on educational robotics dedicated to children with specific learning disorders. Thanks to the cooperative work style based on the constructivist and inclusive “learning by doing” methodology, even the most fragile alumni can experiment a variety of solutions together with their classmates. The coordinating teacher, an educational robotics expert, helps the children to exchange and compare ideas, and test and verify them.
