After Turin and Milan, the Coding Girls Educational Tour is in Bologna. The programme, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the United States Embassy in Italy in collaboration with Microsoft Italy, aims to promote gender equality in science and technology. The sixth edition will be held on November 5-22 and will involve 10,000 young women in 14 Italian cities.
After the intensive training sessions held in city schools (IIS Crescenzi – Pacinotti – Sirani, LGS Galvani, LSS Righi, IIS Fermi), 120 students, guided by American super coach Anthonette Peña, National Board Certified Teacher and STEM Teacher Lead, will participate in a hackathon at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. The marathon is organised in collaboration with Prof. Rebecca Montanari and the Department of Computer Science – Science and Engineering.
The Coding Girls Tour will touch down in 11 more cities: Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Naples, Palermo, Pisa, Pistoia, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Salerno and Trieste.
