Knowledge that connects: open workshops

Saturday 24 October at the Palestra dell’Innovazione

On 24 October, the Palestra dell’Innovazione opens its doors to children, young people and families with free workshops on digital fabrication and robotics. A day to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale together.

How do you build a robot? How do you turn an idea into a real object using digital fabrication technologies? And what happens when children, young people and adults put themselves to the test together, sharing their curiosity, skills and new discoveries?

On Saturday 24 October, from 10.00 to 16.00, the Palestra dell’Innovazione in Rome, at Via del Quadraro 102, will open its doors to the public for a day of free workshops dedicated to robotics and digital fabrication. An opportunity to experiment, learn by doing and discover together the opportunities offered by new technologies.

The initiative is part of Knowledge that Connects, the programme of events marking the 25th anniversary of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, spanning art, science, education and social innovation. A journey that takes in Milan and Rome and involves universities, institutions, businesses and members of the public, exploring the value of relationships in building and sharing knowledge.

For one day, the Palestra dell’Innovazione becomes a large open workshop, where children and young people aged 7 to 13, parents and teachers can engage with technology through practical and creative experiences. The workshops invite participants to explore how the tools work, experiment with solutions and collaborate, transforming curiosity into a tangible learning experience.

The day also serves as an opportunity to connect with the community that has supported the Foundation’s growth since 2001. Twenty-five years of projects, people and educational partnerships that have helped make knowledge an accessible and shared resource.

The programme for Saturday 24 October

The workshops take place in three sessions to allow more groups to participate:
10.00–11.30
12.00–13.30
14.30–16.00

Participation is free of charge, but registration is compulsory, subject to availability.
