Project The Italian Makers provides schools and artisanal enterprises with a wholly original school/work routine. The project is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Inail Lazio in collaboration with CNA.
It may be more correct to define it as a “school/work/innovation routine,” as students and craftsmen work together to test new innovative solutions on various levels: from materials to production processes. Above all, however, this is an efficient solution that allows students to acquire new competences and craftsmen to face the crisis and become more competitive.
One concrete example is the stage that the “Fashion and Design” students at the Istituto d’istruzione superiore A. Diaz in Rome are experiencing at the La Civetta Vanitosa, an artisanal laboratory for fashione and clothing, managed by Filomena Tolino.
The craftswoman and the future young stylists have designed a new collection that joins classic craftsmanship with innovative materials that will be cut with the Fab Lab machinery in at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym.
