From primary school to research centres and large enterprises, the entire robotics system will meet at the Campidoglio, the Rome City Hall, on Wednesday March 16 to sign the network agreement and create a long-term national strategy for educational robotics.
Alfonso Molina, Professor of Technology Strategy at the University of Edinburgh and Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, has launched this initiative.
The event will be held during the finals and Awards Ceremony of the 5th Edition of the RomeCup(Rome, 14-16 March) that will also select a number of teams participating in the International RoboCup challenge.
The event is also particularly significant as it occurs during the National festivities for the 150 years of Italian unity. The country needs to find a new drive to promote social reconstruction and develop a democratic knowledge society. All the parties undersigning the agreement at the Campidoglio hope that this new national network will become a historical milestone for the growth and development of Italy and they have agreed to share a model of social innovation as a strategy to accelerate the process of inclusion for all citizens.
