ISEV Conference in Prague

Today and tomorrow, the Charles University in Prague will host the National Conference U3A in the Czech Republic, organised by the Czech Association of Universities for the Third Age.

The event is part of Project Inclusive Senior Education through Virtual U3A (ISEV) implemented as part of the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships Programme for Adult Education. The keynote speaker will be Engineer Zdeňka Telnarová, ISEV Project Coordinator, who will illustrate the contribution of the University of Ostrava.

The conclusions of the ISEV Survey in the Czech Republic will also be presented, concentrating on the four main project areas:

  • Social inclusion
  • Use of technology
  • Active participation of senior citizens
  • Involvement of youth in courses for senior citizens

The objective of the 34-month project is to make education more accessible to elders, tearing down barriers and adapting custom-tailored educational activities to promote learning independently from place of residence, health conditions, financial status, and family and social conditions.

The transformative learning model for adults developed by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale through Project Grandparents on the Internet, The Knowledge Volunteers, The Italian Makers, and the Network of Knowledge Volunteers will be integrated in Project ISEV with the experience consolidated by other European partners in adult education.
