Over the past two years, IED Roma has been conducting a lab project dedicated to robotics as part of their Product Design course. Students develop concepts or innovative ideas that concern the integration of robots in contemporary society.
The objective is to improve life quality thanks to Social Robots performing tasks in common areas and Rescue Robots performing dangerous tasks. The proposed ideas that have been developed into 3D models range from cigarette butt cleaning robots to traffic police assistant robots.
At the RomeCup 2011 exhibition area, students will be able to try their hand at designing robots with paper, pens and plasticene.

The Robotics Project Lab at IED Roma is held by Federica Pascucci, PhD (Department of Computer Science and Automation, Rome “Roma Tre” University). The Product Design Course at IED Roma is coordinated by Marika Aakesson.
