ICity Lab in Florence

How far have Italian cities progressed towards the sustainability objectives of the Agenda 2030? What about with regard to the technology that will allow the rise of smart cities?

ICity Lab is underway in Florence at the Palazzo degli Affari. The Tuscan City placed second in terms of smartness in the ICity Rate 2018 Report, the annual FPA Report dedicated to smart cities. The report indicates that the city has made excellent progress in tourism and cultural activities and digital transformation (in which it places first). It is amongst the top cities in terms of sustainable mobility, economic stability, education, work, civil participation and energy.

Today (2:00-2:20 pm), Ilaria Graziano, Project Manager at the  Fondazione Mondo Digitale, will hold a presentation on Lifelong Learning for Concrete Innovation as part of the Academy Programme.

The presentation will focus on the Phyrtual Innovation Gym as a winning public service model for the common good. The gym provides support to schools that wish to renew didactic activities, provide lifelong learning courses for all citizens, exploits their facilities and promotes strategies and innovation processes that create value and beauty for the entire community, all the way out to the suburbs.
