From CodingGirls to Pink Cloud: Francesca Tavazza and Loredana Cozzone tell us about their passion for coding in a video Microsoft is preparing for the third edition of Europe Code Week (October 10-18) that will feature thousands of events throughout Europe.
Francesca and Loredana study at the Liceo Scientifico IIS Pacinotti-Archimede in Rome and discovered their passion for coding thanks to the CodingGirls Rome-USA event, promoted in collaboration with the United States Embassy in Rome and the Girls Who Code organization. Then, they participated in the third edition of Pink Cloud in Milan (May 19-21, 2015). Today, they are back in Peschiera Borromeo at the Italian headquarters of Microsoft, to explain their love for programming and the role that coding can play in their professional future.
In October, Francesca and Loredana will also participate in the International Hackathon for Civic and Social Innovation, which will be held in Rome as part of the Smart&Heart Cities Initiative and the Knowledge Society Forum (KSF) held as part of the Global Junior Challenge (October 27-30, 2015).
And their social commitment continues … we will surely see them again in the role of “peer facilitators” in other projects and as testimonials for the European eSkills for Jobs Campaign.
Until we see their European interpretation of coding, here are two “historical” videos:
CodingGirls Rome-USA: the “upside down story” of the Hacker Sisters Team in which the princess is out looking for a prince! Ilaria, Loredana and Sara, students at the Pacinotti-Archimede and Alberti Schools in Rome, faced the hackathon challenge together. In the video, Loredana explains the project that won the "Best Design" Award.
CodingGirls Rome-USA: "Piano Game" wins the "Best User Interactivity" Award. The programme was developed by three girls from the Galilei and Pacinotti-Archimede schools in Rome. Francesca explains how it works
After the hackathon experience, Loredana has also become a passionate teacher and participates as a knowledge volunteer in the CodingGirls Team.
