The second regional event of Factor J, scheduled for today at 10 am, is dedicated to chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), a heterogeneous group of pathologies on the rise, whose causes are unknown. Is it possible to lead a normal life while our bodies undergo abnormal immunological reactions? How do we live with a chronic disease and navigate latent, acute and remission phases? How can the cure be custom-tailored?
The protagonist of our cover story is a young researcher, Valeria Avataneo who studies how to dose drugs for individual patients, including Covid-19 antiviral medication at the Clinical and Pharmacogenetic Pharmacology Lab of the Amedeo di Savoia Hospital in Turin.
During the educational session, students and teachers will exchange opinions with doctors, operators, educators and witnesses from project partner associations, including AMICI Onlus. The local event, which will be held on-line on the GoToWebinar Platform, is organized in collaboration with the Regione Piemonte.
