Health Premiere

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale continues its efforts to direct students towards correct information, both on- and off-line, on issues related to health and prevention. “Health Premiere” has been organized as part of Project Viral but Healthy. One hundred students will view a premiere of Elisabetta Sgarbi’s docufilm, entitled  “Vaccini. 9 lezioni di scienza” (Vaccines. 9 Lessons from Science). The director will be present at the screening.

Amongst all the fake news circulating on-line, those about health continue to receive the most attention. In 2019, according to an NBC News analysis, viral disinformation addressed tumours, inexistent cures and vaccines. Some of the articles had thousands of views and shares, around the world.

Project Viral but Healthy, promoted by Fondazione Mondo Digitale with the non-binding support of MSD Italia, has already involved 50 students on the development of new apps, technological solutions and communications campaigns for the prevention of common diseases.

The winning idea was Super Freddie, a remake of the famous Nintendo videogame, a vaccinated hero who must defeat viruses and bacteria. The students developed a demo version to share with their peers in Italian schools and through a communications campaign.
