The Interconnections Tour, part of the “Digital for the 3@rd Age. Engagement of Young Elders” Programme, begins on Monday, November 27 in Perugia with a Health Hackathon, a coding marathon to conceive, design and develop new tools, devices and aides to improve the quality of life of elders.
Project “Interconnections” will allow over-65s to benefit from the opportunities provided by the Internet and learn more about digital tools and e-government services, becoming active and conscious citizens who contribute to the economic development and digitalisation of their communities. A strategic action, promoted by the Regione Umbria and the Umbrian Public Administration School, in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. The project will drive local institutions to face the challenge of rewriting the programme of the Digital Agenda, involving local communities through innovative formats (hackathons, pop up makers, digital desks etc.) and a tour in the main cities of the Regione Umbria. For an entire week, over-65s, students, young men and women, makers, programmers and start-uppers will work together to actively map the problems and needs of elders and propose innovative, shared solutions on digital issues concerning elders.
