Today, Saturday, November16, the Coding Girls Tour 2019 will be in Bari and in Naples for the 9th and 10th stops.
The programme, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the United States Embassy in Italy in collaboration with Microsoft Italy, aims to promote gender equality in science and technology. The sixth edition will be held on November 5-22 and will involve 10,000 young women in 14 Italian cities.
In Bari, after the intensive training sessions held in schools in the city and province (IISS Marconi-Hack, LSS Scacchi, LSS Fermi, LSS Salvemini, LSS Socrate e LCS Da Vinci di Molfetta), 120 students, guided by American super coach Anthonette Peña, National Board Certified Teacher and STEM Teacher Lead, will participate in a hackathon at the “Aldo Moro” University of Bari.
In Naples, intensive training sessions were also held in schools in the city (IIS Nitti, LCS Caro, IIS Vico, LSS Cacioppoli, IIS Ferraris di Scampia) and province (ISIS Tassinari di Pozzuoli, ISS Pitagora di Pozzuoli, IIS Da Vinci di Poggio Marino). The creative programming challenge held at the Apple Developer Academy was held by American super coach Emily Bradford, independent writer and software developer based in Silicon Valley.
Thanks to the Microsoft Give Campaign, even Michele Cerreto, Senior Premier Field Engineer, and Vincenzo Esposito, intern, helped with the hackathon.
