RomeCup 2019 hosted a double challenge for high school student teams to discover the new young talents in robotics and life sciences, organised by the  Fondazione Mondo Digitale, in collaboration with the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University and Lazio Innova. The Creative Jam and Hackathon were held yesterday to develop efficient and innovative solutions (apps, sites, robotic prototypes) for human enhancement.

 

Placement

1st Place: Engine for You - Liceo scientifico e linguistico di Ceccano (Frosinone)

2nd Place: V Software - Vailati di Genzano (Rome)

3rd Place: Pedana Team - Bianchini di Terracina (Latina)

 

Team Engine for You, which also led the Creative Jam, won a 500-euro prize and a plaque.

 

"Our project, T-glass, helps the sight-impaired to see thanks to a pair of intelligent glasses equipped with video cameras and sensors that communicate, via bone conduction, what users have around them,” explains the team. "Together with T-glass, we also developed T-eye, a pair of bracelets that exploit Google Maps and tactile feedback to guide users through urban roads.”

 

The team, coordinated by Prof. Pietro Alviti, includes:

  • Francesco Maura, 16, Coding and Conception
  • Cristian Colasanti, 18, Marketing Manager
  • Leonardo Pulciani, 16, 3D Modelling and Design
  • Luca Iacovissi, 15, Graphics and Design
