Today, the Istituto Giordani-Striano in Naples will host a teacher-training seminar on "Advanced Interactive Graphic Novels on mobile touch screen devices” (Via Caravaggio 184, 3-4 pm)

The seminar, promoted in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, is part of the European Project AG Novel (Lifelong Learning Programme 2007-2013), involving 8 partners from Germany, UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Lithuania and Cyprus. The project consortium includes four universities, one research centre, two regional agencies and a tech-based company.

Project AG Novel aims to create a modern language-learning environment thanks to an app that will be available in 8 languages (including English, French and German). The app is based on an interactive graphic novel that allows users to custom tailor the level of interactivity and the written and oral level

The seminar will have two phases:

  • The frontal seminar - during which the project and app will be explained
  • A lab - during which teachers will have the opportunity to test the app and other materials.

The seminar aims to:

  • Create a common workspace promoting reflection on the methodological use of mobile learning in language learning;
  • Provide teachers with technical training on the use of the interactive graphic novel for language learning;
  • Identify new methodological ideas and propsoals for mobile language learning.
