For the 12th edition of RomeCup, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, in collaboration with the universities of Rome (Tor Vergata, Campus Bio-Medico, Sapienza), will promote three create contests on robotic technology applied to agriculture and rehabilitation [see news: Towards RomeCup 2018].
The AGROBOT, COBOT and NONNIBOT contest are open to university students and students on school-work programmes, either individually or as teams. Joint teams with university and high school students will have precedence.
And the teams are already at work ... Today, we will take a look at what students are developing for the NonniBot Contest.
The objective of the NonniBOT Contest, coordinated by the Department of Information, Control and Management Engineering at Sapienza University, is to develop a robot that will allow children to remotely connect with grandparents.
Paola Ferrarelli and Luca Iocchi are coordinating work in the 8 schools. Each team is composed of no less than 4-5 members from school-work programmes with the supervision of a school professor.
