A Good Solution

A Good Solution

The deadline of the third challenge of Project Scouting the Future, promoted by the Regione Lazio and organised by Lazio Innova and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, in collaboration with Comau is just a few days away. This is a virtual reality contest based on the ongoing health emergency.

We need ethical, fair solutions designed to reduce new forms of inequality. Issues surrounding the Immuni App have given rise to a debate. Luciano Floridi, Professor of Philosophy and Information Ethics at the Oxford Internet Institute at the University of Oxford and Director of the Digital Ethics Lab, believes that “coronavirus apps must be ethical or it’s better to give up all together.”

How does one design a good solution? Do you have an idea to share that you don’t know how to develop? The Virtual Reality Contest is open to any type of technological solution, not only for tracking and control, but also to manage the emergency.

Covid 19. What technology (starting with robotics, but not only) would you like to see adopted to improve the management of the health emergency in our country?

The virtual challenge on life sciences launched by Comau addresses researchers, start-uppers, makers, expert coaches and university students who wish to provide their contribution to the country during the ongoing health emergency.

Participants must submit a prototype idea or a developed prototype open to improvements. Ideas should concern the:

  • Development or creation of new prototypes addressing the specific challenge;
  • Be developed in the Regione Lazio.

All submitted ideas will be evaluated by Lazio Innova, Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Comau.

The winner will receive a 1000 euro award from Lazio Innova along with the opportunity to participate in an acceleration course for the idea presented to Lazio Innova.

For the “Life Science” Virtual Reality Contest, teams will naturally work on-line, as required by the measures in place to contain the diffusion of the coronavirus.

Registration for the challenge is free.

Ideas should be submitted by May 20 to contest@mondodigitale.org, attaching all the documents required by the call.

For participation regulations and evaluation criteria, see: regulations and annex A.
