What technology will exist in the future? How will we use it? What types of professional careers will exist in the future? What issues will be considered most important?
These are some of the questions that will be discussed at the TEDxYouth@Trastevere Conference that will be held tomorrow – Saturday, 14 November – at the Rome Auditorium “Parco della Musica” (Sala Petrassi) from 2 to 8 pm.
The event is part of the global discussion on "Made in the Future" that will be held simultaneously in 100 cities worldwide thanks to the power of the web to address cultures, thoughts, feelings and expectations on the future.
The creativity and commitment to improve the life of others will also feature Gabriele Caiazzo, the nineteen year-old from Aprilia who designed and developed the “Handy Hand” bionic prosthesis. Gabriele graduated in electronics from the IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli School in Aprilia and has now enrolled to study electronic engineering at the University of Roma Tre.
“He is passionate about science in general, but over the last four years, he has concentrated on designing and developing a range of electronic prototypes,” explain the organisers who will introduce Gabriele. “More recently, he has also become interested in 3D Printing. The Handy Hand prototype is one of the projects presented at the RomeCup thanks to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.”
Gabriele, who is speaking at TED for the first time, is supported by his entire community: IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli in Aprilia and the network of schools participating in Meet No Neet, part of the global Microsoft YouthSpark Programme.
