A success story based on sixteen Italian language courses for over 300 foreign citizens, half of which are women, ranging from basic Italian language courses to level A2; ad hoc courses for 50 citizens with a low level of schooling; workshops for training instructors with ICT experts and Italian language teachers.

Course participants come from 30 different countries and can take advantage of 17 interactive didactic modules on ICT and safety. Moreover, a Inter-institutional Network Agreement has been signed for the full social inclusion of immigrant citizens.

This is Project SI – School of Italian, promoted by the Regione Abruzzo, in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the Centri Territoriali Permanenti (CTPs) in Avezzano, Nereto, Pescara, Popoli, Silvi and Sulmona.

During the presentation event held on April 17 in Pescara at the offices of the Regione Abruzzo, FMD staff collected the impressions of all the involved protagonists: institutional representatives, immigrations experts, teachers and foreign citizens.

The meeting was coordinated by Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, who explained, "we have exceptional partners like the Regione Abruzzo as the lead partner, 7 local CTPs and the support of the Regional School Department. I would like to thank everyone for the excellent work that has been done to date and that has allowed us to provide this precious tool for the full inclusion of foreign citizens."
