What can you do in a digital craftsmanship laboratory? Just about everything! We’ve showed you photos of jewellery, fashion projects, wooden mosaic tesserae … This week, the Roman makers at the Phyrtual Innovaiton Gym Fab Lab have developed a Fisheye Lens that can pan to 183 degrees!

This is a special photographic or video lens that has an extremely wide angle that can film a field greater than 180 degrees.

The term “fisheye” was coined by American physicist and inventor Robert W. Wood in his book Physical Optics. The reference is to the particular vision of a lake bottom fish that can visualize an entire semi-sphere at once!
