Finding Work through Play

Employerland is the first social game dedicated to the labour market. The players use custom-tailored avators to compete in a virtual economic environment that hosts various organisations, including multinationals, and test their skills in a simulated work environment.

Tests and multiple-choice questions, designed together with enterprises and the project founders, challenge job seekers to measure their skills and compete for open positions. And then, from the simulation, they move into a real working environment.

The platform – an app available both for Apple and Android devices – was developed by the homonymous Roman start-up founded by three Roman forty-year olds, including Gabriele Lizzani, a professor of “Employer Branding” at the Rome Sapienza University, who today will meet young men and women at the Officina – New Jobs Workshop and simulate a working day on the platform.

The appointment is from 11 am to 1 pm at the Officina – New Jobs Workshop at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym.

The Officina – New Jobs Workshop is a project conceived by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Google to promote digital skills and implement professional training and orientation activities for 10,000 young men and women currently looking for a job. The initiative has been organised with the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, University and Research, the Regione Lazio and Roma Capitale.
