A Fantastic Experience

"What happened when they asked me to participate in Coding Girls? I jumped on it!" exclaims twenty-year-old Aurora Pani. Today, she is attending her second year at Sapienza University of Rome, where she studies computer science.

At home, thanks to a coding mom and a “horrible” old computer, Aurora started playing with code and never stopped. “If you make a mess, don’t come looking for me immediately,” her mom would say. And she used that and other pieces of advice successfully with her young students at primary school. “Being called teacher is a great satisfaction!”

At her school, the Liceo Peano in Monterondo (Rome), Aurora and her classmates hosted a Digital Café open to all citizens. Thanks to her experience as a coach, she decided to study computer science at university. “There are only 10 women out of 300 freshmen on the Computer Science Programme!”

"Coding is neither work, nor study for me,” confesses Aurora. "It’s pure fun!" And "Coding Girls is an extraordinary experience!"
